Our Sight. Our Vision. Our Insight.
Light. Vision. Insight. Seeing. Intuition. Visualization.
The corresponding element of this chakra is light, a fine vibrational energy. And, the purpose of the brow chakra is to see with the light of consciousness. It relates to seeing, both internally and externally. A healthy 3rd eye chakra has strong intuition, creative imagination and good memory. In addition, one will have a strong vision for life and the ability to visualize and project that vision. Light and clarity of sight is the energy of this chakra.
The 3rd Eye is the Command Center of our Being
This Chakra is known as the brow Chakra or third eye center. It is related to the act of seeing, both physically and intuitively. The 3rd eye is an etheric organ of psychic perception existing between the two physical eyes, which allows this chakra-portal to see beyond the physical world and bring insight to what is physically seen, with the naked eye. That is to say, the physical image we see reveals an object of existence, but insight informs us about the object, or what we perceive and experience outside is but a manifestation of our subjective reality. Conscious perception of being takes place in this chakra center. We see with our physical eyes, but the 3rd eye hold images in memory, which inform our perceptions. Thus, the basic operating principle of the brow chakra is the knowledge of being. Because it is located in the head, its nature is more mental (not located in the body, as in the previous chakra centers). The Sanskrit name for the 3rd eye / brow chakra is "Ajna", which means to perceive - its root meaning is to know and to follow. As such, this center is our command center, where we perceive our reality. On the physical plane it is the center of command for the central nervous system.
Visualization as a tool for Expansion and Self-Awareness
As we activate the energy of the 3rd eye, we increase the powers of visualization - the power to see with the minds eye. Our minds have a natural ability for creating images eg: dreaming. The power of visualization is the ability to evoke emotions and feelings associated with the image created by the mind. The right hemisphere of the brain has the image-producing abilities and is responsible for the emotional responses and symbolic representations of the world. and the encompassing images. When visualization is applied to everyday thinking it can open the door to new levels of perception and awareness; that is, we can expand our consciousness.
Archetypal Identity
In Jungian theory, an archetype is a primitive mental image inherited from the earliest ancestors, and is supposed to be present in the collective unconscious. Essentially it is a mold of the first archetypal model. The brow chakra opens to the archetypal realm. Through this center we identify with an original mold of humanity; for example, the archetype of the mother, the lost child, the hero, the warrior, or the innumerable archetypes that exist. Finding your archetype can be a guide, if used consciously. By bringing your archetypes to consciousness, you have an awareness of influences that exist in your life. Finding your archetype, your vision is an important goal of the sixth chakra. By understanding your archetypal identity, you will gain insight into your personal vision. On your life journey, it is your vision that dictates your choices. Your vision is unique to you.
